METRON 91 & TFW: EUROPEAN CHAMPION WHEELS

Break up the limits: this is the first objective in every competition, in particular in the time races it’s essential for the racer to have the best technologies available. Races can be won when every detail is thought to save as much time as possible.

With this goal, which is intrinsic in our DNA, we worked alongside with Cannondale, the EF team and Stefan Bissegger to build him the ultimate time trial weapon.
In particular, the set-up we have studied consists of special hand-made wheels and an aero cockpit with full carbon monocoque extensions.

The front wheel is the newest of our range: the Metron 91 with 21 mm internal channel, developed, like all Metron Wheels, in the wind tunnel. After a year of studies and tests, we brought the height to 91 mm, because this is the size has proved to be the most aerodynamic and the fastest, so much so that we can obtain an advantage of up to 15.8 seconds over a 40km time trial (all data is obtained both in virtual tests and in the wind tunnel).

Great attention is also dedicated to the hub: it is a PRS with special ceramic bearings. The weight of the front wheel is only 938 gr, and it will be available in a retail version too.

The rear wheel is the famous Metron TFW, the fastest and aerodymanic of our range. It is presented in an updated and lighter version, which has a weight of 958 gr, hub and graphics included.

The difference between the rear wheel and the Metron 91, is that the TFW is a special piece, handmade with 100 % Italian carbon. This is, undoubtedly, the maximum expression of know-how, technology and local production. A wheel that, together with the extensions, we can define 100% DOCG.

However, building racing wheels also means enhancing your brand and, as in motorsport, making your products instantly recognizable. For this reason we have developed completely customized graphics, not only in the pattern, which shows the typical colors of the European jersey as well as our logo, but also in the production, in fact the stickers and paints are made with materials with reduced aerodynamic resistance, with a anti-turbulence surface treatment, developed in Formula 1, in an attempt to eliminate all the micro-vortexes that are generated on the surface of the bicycle, this has allowed the technicians to lower the CX by 0,8% and reduce friction by up to 5%.
