Michelle Vesterby Wins Ironman Copenhagen

Vision sponsored Triathlete, Michelle Vesterby, came across the finish line in 1st place over this past weekend (Aug 20) at Ironman Copenhagen with a huge 7 min 47sec gap back to the 2nd place finisher.

This is Michelle’s second overall victory at Ironman Copenhagen having previously won in 2015. She can now add yet another title to her already successful career, with previous victories at Lanzarote (2012), Copenhagen (2015) and Cozumel (2016). Vesterby led in all three categories of the race: Swim, bike and run. She laid down both the women’s-best 55:14 swim and the women’s-best 4:48:03 bike split. She was racing on Vision wheels, aerobars, and crankset during the bike split.

Overall if was a stellar performance and she will next be seen at the 2017 KONA World Championships. Be sure to cheer her on!

Michelle Vesterby:
“I worked very hard to win KMD IRONMAN Denmark and I led the race from start to finish. I felt I had it under control (although you're never 100% sure before crossing the finish line), which meant I could enjoy the amazing atmosphere around me all day.”

“I'm very happy and honored to share the podium with two strong girls, but most importantly, I want to make a BIG shout out to all the volunteers, the organization, the spectators, my sponsors, friends and family. Without you nothing would be as successful - Triathlon is NOT a one man show.”
